The owl was my contribution.
My wife is a very organized person. One of her passions is puzzles. She has a systematic way of working through even the largest and most complicated ones. She uses it to relax. My daughter is more of a haphazard try anything to see if it fits type. Yet, they like to do puzzles together. It’s kind of cool to watch the different styles.

Hmm, those 3D puzzles never quite worked out for me as a kid. Give me the Lego version!
The only time I’ve done a puzzle recently was a pretty simple Thomas the Tank Engine puzzle with a friend’s two year old. It was interesting to see her try to solve it, she was very interested in trying to match the shapes of the puzzle pieces while ignoring the picture completely unless you prompted her. With that prompting though she was usually able to figure out where a piece might go.

Thank you! The beauty of them is they are really quite inexpensive for being so solidly made. The table also has two leaves for it.

Oh, we’re all about the LEGO too!
Watching kids do puzzles is like looking through a window into their minds.

I did a 3D puzzle with my four and six year old nephews over Christmas. Just a small castle, and it wasn’t tough to put together because whoever put it back in the box had left most of the wall segments together and all we had to so was assemble them . We got it finished in about an hour (both boys got bored and wandered off more than a couple times) and I left them alone in the the room with it to either grab a camera or get grandma (my mom) so the boys could show it to her or something , but I wasn’t gone five minutes. When I got back into the room, “Uncle Gog T he monster truck drove over it and crushed it into a ba-million pieces!!”. I don’t think there were two pieces together in the whole mess.

Haha! That’s your personality profile right there. They managed to have fun with it after all!

I like the owl!
I have 6 bags left on the giant Hogwarts LEGO set. I’m torn between bingeing until it’s done and delaying because then what?
(Then I daydream about buying an LED light kit for it)

Thanks! His name is Douglas. My dad gave him to me.
I say binge. It’s the most fun when you can really get your head into it for a long spell on a quiet afternoon or evening.
Then get the light kit and post it.

I hate these puzzles. Those damn facesheets always peel off from the foam core
